Since the 2022 reform stripped many sectors of the entitlement, a lot of businesses have been left holding stock they can no longer legally burn — and the dye stains any tank it sits in. The 2022 change is the reason for a lot of these calls. Sectors that lost the entitlement — construction, plant hire, many commercial users — were left with red diesel they could no longer put in a machine, and the compliant answer is removal and documented disposal. Disposal closes the loop: the collected red diesel reaches a permitted facility, is processed or destroyed lawfully, and the transfer note issued on site is your proof it was done right. The compliance value of proper disposal is the record. The fuel leaves Milford Haven for a permitted facility, and the transfer note captures the movement — the difference between disposed of and merely gone. ## Local Welsh red diesel disposal in Milford Haven: the facts Fuel | Red diesel | Service | Collection and licensed disposal | Council area | Pembrokeshire | Postcode districts | SA73 | Why it degrades | Ages like diesel, plus a legal marker dye that stains tanks | Typical sources | Farms, plant, generators, bowsers, decommissioned tanks, closing businesses | Classification | Hazardous waste — waste transfer note issued | Regulator | Natural Resources Wales | Typical cost | Quoted per litre or per job | Attendance | Collected and disposed of under licence | Helpline | 01295 380724 | ## Where red diesel comes from around Milford Haven In Milford Haven the usual sources of red diesel we collect and dispose of are sold or dispersed farms, closing depots and yards, and decommissioned bulk tanks holding rebated fuel. A registered carrier attends home, farm, depot, marina and commercial sites, pumps out the red diesel and issues a waste transfer note on site. **Can you clear a tank so it is dye-free?** We remove the red diesel and can clean the tank so it is fit to hold road diesel again. Any residual dye is dealt with as part of the tank clean. **Will I get paperwork for HMRC?** You get a waste transfer note recording what was collected and where it went. That is your evidence of compliant disposal for both HMRC and the regulator. **Do you take contaminated red diesel?** Yes — rebated fuel spoiled by water, sludge or bug is collected and disposed of the same way as any contaminated diesel, with documentation. **How is the price worked out?** Per litre against the volume and access, quoted before travel. Give us the rough litres in the tank or bowser when you call. ### Other sites in this network Fuel Fixer Wales is part of Stockbridge Capital Holdings › Fuel Fixer International › Fuel Fixer Ltd.
