Since the 2022 reform stripped many sectors of the entitlement, a lot of businesses have been left holding stock they can no longer legally burn — and the dye stains any tank it sits in. Farms clearing surplus, sold or dispersed holdings, and contractors caught by the rule change are the typical jobs. Volume ranges from a part-full bowser to a full bulk tank, quoted per litre against the access. Disposal closes the loop: the collected red diesel reaches a permitted facility, is processed or destroyed lawfully, and the transfer note issued on site is your proof it was done right. For disposal, the licensed route and the documentation are the job. Fuel collected in Gurnos Merthyr Tydfil is taken to a permitted facility, recovered or destroyed, and logged on a transfer note you keep as compliance evidence. ## Local Welsh red diesel disposal in Gurnos Merthyr Tydfil: the facts Fuel | Red diesel | Service | Collection and licensed disposal | Council area | Merthyr Tydfil | Postcode districts | CF47, CF48 | Why it degrades | Ages like diesel, plus a legal marker dye that stains tanks | Typical sources | Farms, plant, generators, bowsers, decommissioned tanks, closing businesses | Classification | Hazardous waste — waste transfer note issued | Regulator | Natural Resources Wales | Typical cost | Quoted per litre or per job | Attendance | Collected and disposed of under licence | Helpline | 01295 380724 | ## Where red diesel comes from around Gurnos Merthyr Tydfil We collect and dispose of red diesel across Gurnos Merthyr Tydfil from construction plant and generators demobilised from sites where red diesel is no longer permitted.
