Left in a tank or a can for more than a few months it oxidises, the lighter fractions evaporate and it drops octane, so an engine that starts on it at all runs rough and pinks. The gums and varnish it leaves behind then clog carburettors, injectors and fuel lines. Once petrol has been collected it is routed to a licensed facility, where it is processed for recovery or safe disposal. That routing, and the paperwork that goes with it, are handled for you — you are not left working out what to do with a drum of dead fuel. Safe disposal routes the petrol to a licensed facility for recovery or destruction and documents it, so the duty of care sits with a paper trail rather than with you guessing. For disposal, the licensed route and the documentation are the job. Fuel collected in Acton Wrexham is taken to a permitted facility, recovered or destroyed, and logged on a transfer note you keep as compliance evidence. ## Local Welsh old petrol disposal in Acton Wrexham: the facts Fuel | Old petrol | Service | Collection and licensed disposal | Council area | Wrexham | Postcode districts | LL11, LL12, LL13, LL14 | Why it degrades | Oxidises and loses octane in 3-6 months; E10 also absorbs water | Typical sources | Classic cars, motorbikes, mowers, generators, boats, jerry cans, clearances | Classification | Hazardous waste — waste transfer note issued | Regulator | Natural Resources Wales | Typical cost | Quoted per litre or per job | Attendance | Collected and disposed of under licence | Helpline | 01295 380724 | ## Where old petrol comes from around Acton Wrexham Around Acton Wrexham the old petrol we collect and dispose of comes from end-of-season karting, motocross and pit fuel, and small dealer or garage stock that has turned. A registered carrier attends home, farm, depot, marina and commercial sites, pumps out the old petrol and issues a waste transfer note on site. **Can old petrol be recycled?** Once collected it goes to a licensed facility where it is processed for recovery or safe disposal. That routing is handled for you and documented on the transfer note. **How much old petrol will you take?** Anything from a single can to a full vehicle tank or a bulk store. Tell us the rough volume in litres and you get a price before anyone travels. **Is a small amount still worth collecting?** Yes. Even a can or two is safer removed than left in a garage, and it is lifted with a transfer note the same as a larger volume. **Will you take mixed or misfuelled petrol?** Yes — petrol mixed with diesel, oil or other fuel is collected and disposed of the same way. Just say what is in it when you call. ### Other sites in this network Fuel Fixer Wales is part of Stockbridge Capital Holdings › Fuel Fixer International › Fuel Fixer Ltd.
