The job is straightforward: a licensed carrier attends anywhere in Milford Haven, pumps the fuel from the tank, bowser, drums or cans, checks the container and issues the transfer note on site. Normally 30-60 minutes on site, quoted per litre or per job. Old diesel is hazardous waste, so it leaves under licence and with paperwork — not down a drain, onto the ground or into a bin. Sediment, water and microbial sludge collect below the draw-off, waiting to block the first filter downstream once the tank is used again. Diesel bug is the word most people land on, and it is real: a community of bacteria and fungi living off the fuel at the water interface. Left alone it corrodes tanks as well as blocking filters, which is why a heavily bugged tank is usually emptied and cleaned rather than dosed. Disposal is what keeps you clean under duty-of-care rules: the diesel goes to a permitted facility rather than anywhere convenient, and the transfer note proves where it went and when. The disposal end matters most for compliance. Once lifted in Milford Haven, the fuel is routed to a licensed facility for recovery or destruction, and the paper trail is the point: your duty of care is discharged by evidence, not assurances. ## Local Welsh old diesel disposal in Milford Haven: the facts Fuel | Old diesel | Service | Collection and licensed disposal | Council area | Pembrokeshire | Postcode districts | SA73 | Why it degrades | Oxidises, drops sediment and grows diesel bug where water is present | Typical sources | Farm tanks, generators, plant, HGVs, boats, bowsers, bulk stores | Classification | Hazardous waste — waste transfer note issued | Regulator | Natural Resources Wales | Typical cost | Quoted per litre or per job | Attendance | Collected and disposed of under licence | Helpline | 01295 380724 | ## Where old diesel comes from around Milford Haven Across Milford Haven and its surroundings we collect and dispose of old diesel from deceased estates, farm dispersal sales and yard clearances where old diesel stock has to be cleared. A registered carrier attends home, farm, depot, marina and commercial sites, pumps out the old diesel and issues a waste transfer note on site. **Can contaminated diesel be cleaned instead of removed?** Polishing can recover lightly contaminated diesel, but heavily bugged or watered fuel is usually removed and the tank cleaned. We can advise once we know the state of it. **Will you empty a farm or bulk tank?** Yes — domestic, farm, estate and commercial bulk tanks, bowsers and drums. Give us the volume in litres and the access and you get a price and a slot before we travel. **Do you clean the tank as well?** We remove the fuel and can arrange a tank clean where the bug or sludge means the vessel needs it before reuse. Tell us the condition when you call. **How quickly can old diesel be collected?** Often the same day for accessible sites, otherwise a booked slot. The quote and window are confirmed before anyone travels. ### Other sites in this network Fuel Fixer Wales is part of Stockbridge Capital Holdings › Fuel Fixer International › Fuel Fixer Ltd.
