Call 01295 380724. A registered waste carrier attends anywhere in Pontardawe — home tank, farm or farm store, depot, marina, plant yard or a few cans in a lock-up — pumps it out, checks the container for residue and issues a waste transfer note on site. Usually 30-60 minutes on site, quoted per litre or per job, often same day. This is hazardous waste in law, which is why it is pumped out, carried under a registered carrier and disposed of properly rather than tipped or left. When the tank has to be emptied, the old oil is hazardous waste. Kerosene and heating oil are used loosely to mean the same thing, but strictly kerosene is the 28-second grade most homes burn, while heating oil also covers 35-second gas oil for some older or agricultural boilers. We collect either. Disposal closes the loop: the collected kerosene reaches a permitted facility, is processed or destroyed lawfully, and the transfer note issued on site is your proof it was done right. Disposal is where duty of care bites. Under the rules the waste is yours until it reaches a permitted facility, so the transfer note issued in Pontardawe — recording what left, when and where it went — is the document that keeps you covered if it is ever questioned. ## Local Welsh kerosene disposal in Pontardawe: the facts Fuel | Kerosene | Service | Collection and licensed disposal | Council area | Neath Port Talbot | Postcode districts | SA8 | Why it degrades | Grows water sludge and bacteria over time; fouls the boiler nozzle | Typical sources | Home heating tanks, decommissioning, boiler upgrades, house sales, estates | Classification | Hazardous waste — waste transfer note issued | Regulator | Natural Resources Wales | Typical cost | Quoted per litre or per job | Attendance | Collected and disposed of under licence | Helpline | 01295 380724 | ## Where kerosene comes from around Pontardawe We collect and dispose of kerosene across Pontardawe from domestic heating oil tanks decommissioned when a home switches to a heat pump, gas or a new system. A registered carrier attends home, farm, depot, marina and commercial sites, pumps out the kerosene and issues a waste transfer note on site. **Can I empty my own oil tank?** It is safer and cleaner to have it pumped out by a registered carrier, especially as the oil is hazardous waste that cannot be tipped away. You also get a transfer note. **Do you decommission the tank too?** We pump out and remove the kerosene and can advise on or arrange tank cleaning and decommissioning. Tell us what you need when you call. **How much notice do you need?** Often a collection can be booked quickly; the window is confirmed with the quote before anyone travels. Access and volume set the timing. **Will you take contaminated kerosene?** Yes — water-logged, sludged or bacterially spoiled kerosene is collected and disposed of the same way, with documentation. ### Other sites in this network Fuel Fixer Wales is part of Stockbridge Capital Holdings › Fuel Fixer International › Fuel Fixer Ltd.
