About kerosene disposal in Dowlais Merthyr Tydfil
Off-grid households run on kerosene, and every so often a tankful has to be cleared: an oil boiler replaced, a tank at the end of its life, contaminated oil that keeps tripping the burner, or a property being sold with oil still in the tank.
Contaminated kerosene that keeps tripping the burner is the other frequent job. Rather than fight it filter by filter, the old oil is removed, the tank checked, and fresh fuel put in clean.
Proper disposal means a permitted end point and a documented trail. The kerosene is taken to a licensed facility for recovery or safe destruction, and the transfer note is your record of compliant disposal.
Done properly, disposal gives you a defensible trail. The fuel from Dowlais Merthyr Tydfil is destroyed or recovered at a licensed facility, and the documentation issued is what protects you under the duty-of-care regime.

Common questions
Do you dispose of kerosene in Dowlais Merthyr Tydfil?
Yes — across Dowlais Merthyr Tydfil and the rest of Merthyr Tydfil. A registered carrier attends home, farm, depot, marina and commercial sites, pumps out the kerosene and issues a waste transfer note on site.
Can I empty my own oil tank?
It is safer and cleaner to have it pumped out by a registered carrier, especially as the oil is hazardous waste that cannot be tipped away. You also get a transfer note.
Do you decommission the tank too?
We pump out and remove the kerosene and can advise on or arrange tank cleaning and decommissioning. Tell us what you need when you call.
How much notice do you need?
Often a collection can be booked quickly; the window is confirmed with the quote before anyone travels. Access and volume set the timing.
Will you take contaminated kerosene?
Yes — water-logged, sludged or bacterially spoiled kerosene is collected and disposed of the same way, with documentation.
